Kawida Lodge OA Winter Banquet, this Saturday, December 5th in Stamler Dining Hall at McKee Scout Reservation, 5:30.
Our keynote speaker this year will be Daniel J. Higham, National Vice Chief, Order of the Arrow.
Saturday, December 5th at 5:30 pm the lodge will gather for our Annual Awards Banquet at McKee Scout Reservation, Stamler Dining Hall. Please plan to attend. All properly registered Scouts, members in good standing with Kawida Lodge and their families are invited.
The 2009 Vigil Honor Class will be recognized as well as the bestowment of lodge and national awards. The 2009 Kawida Lodge Officers will also be installed. The first 200 to register through the Blue Grass Council Office will receive our 2009 Banquet Flap at check-in the day of the banquet.

Next Chapter Meeting
We look forward to seeing you at the monthly Wehali Chapter Meetings held during the District Roundtable, the second Thursday of each month at Immanuel Baptist Church. Go to the Scouts Roundtable at 7 pm and then the Chapter breaks off for a separate meeting until 8 pm. Roundtable ends at 8:30, in case you want to rejoin Roundtable and take back the District Scout news to your Troop. The December Roundtable meeting is a party to celebrate Christmas and we plan to party with them. There will be good food and fellowship. Come join us!
Graham Fielder is the Chapter Chief, Jake McKnight is the Elections Committee Chair, Matthew Hostetler is the Ceremonies Committee Chair and Ryan Siegel is the Geocaching Committee Chair. The Chapter plans to hold Geocaching events this year that should be fun for everyone.

2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree
July 26 – August 4, 2010
The Blue Grass Council will be hosting 3 Troops! See yourself rappelling, discovering scuba, kayaking, rafting, and sailing. Experience trap shooting, archery, bikeathlons, buckskin games, confidence courses, conservation trail, and more! There is not enough time in the day for all the exciting activities that are there waiting for you to try.
Daily activities include an incredible merit badge midway, arts and sciences, a re-creation of Baden-Powell’s original Scout camp on Brownsea Island, an American Indian village, regional entertainment stages, and many other activities. The arena shows are a highlight for all participants. The jamboree is Scouting at its very best!

Many of you have been anxiously awaiting information about the Order of the Arrow's involvement at the 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree. We have good news! Information about OA Staff positions is now available on the event site.
July 26 – August 4, 2010

Northern Tier Wilderness Canoe Adventure
July 11 – 23, 2010
If you are interested in more fun try the Boundary Waters Canoe Trek in 2010!
The Blue Grass Council will head north once again to canoe country from July 11th thru July 23rd, 2010 with 16 lucky Scouts who will spend 7 days paddling, fishing and enjoying the wilderness of Minnesota. The Charles L. Sommers Canoe Base wil serve as the outfitter near Ely, MN.
The total fee is $900 which includes transportation, lodging, meals, and the Northern Tier fees.

One of the four fold purposes of the Order of the Arrow is "to crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others." In that spirit, a Fall Work Day at Camp McKee is set for October 17th.
